Design brief
The clients expect to live at the property for many years and requested a full design proposal for their rear garden. The house is a 1950's bungalow, with new structural additions giving a contemporary, uncluttered "west coast modernism" feel.
A practical, child-friendly, family garden was specified with facilitaties for play, entertaining up to 30-40 people and relaxing. A broad expanse of lawn and the existing salix babylonica were highlighted as being popular and should be retained. The garden should be easy to look after as the clients expect to spend 2-3 hours per week maintaining it.
